Reading at the Muskegon Museum of Art

If you're near Muskegon, MI, the evening of Thursday, April 19th, consider joining me at the Muskegon Museum of Art. I will read my poem "Little Lyme Regis Maiden" inspired by the MMA's painting "Study in Rose and Brown" by James McNeill Whistler. The poem received an honorable mention in MMA's Art Talk 2018 Poetry Competition. Readings begin at 6:00 p.m. Additional details can be found here.

Writing Prompt Wednesday

Frequently, I find myself looking for keys--to the car, the house, all the things we lock up. Of course, I've also searched for keys to good health, contentment, someone's heart. It's always a thrill, and a relief, when I finally find what I believe I've lost. Imagine the jangle of the keys in the above photo. I hope the image inspires a poem, short story, or something more. When you're done, send it my way. I'd love to read it.
