A Good Way to Begin National Poetry Month
My poem “When the Sun and Moon Appears in the Same Sky” appears in the gorgeous new edition of the Gyroscope Review.
This ekphrastic poem was conceived after I was gifted my grandfather’s diary that includes notes on the paintings of JMW Turner, the renown English artist. I was fortunate to see the painting last September at The National Gallery in London. The painting’s image above doesn’t do it justice, yet you can see the complexity of Turner’s coloration, and detect a poignancy in his subject, inspiring me to take a poetic leap.
